Exciting news! A series of papers have just been published in Nature Geoscience to present the first results of the InSight mission. Check them out here
C.B. gave a talk to educators at the 2020 Space Exploration Educators Conference (SEEC) at Space Center Houston. We talked about the latest InSight mission results and went over some tools that can be used in the classroom. It was a lot of fun!
This week, C.B. attended the first face-to-face Lunar Geophysical Network team meeting in Huntsville, AL. At the end of the meeting, some of us visited the Marshall Lander Lab. Picture of team members below:
This week, part of our team attended the AGU Fall meeting in San Francisco to present our work on Mars and the Indian Ocean upper mantle
Happy to announce that the following paper has been accepted for publication in JGR: Huang, Q., Schmerr, N., Waszek, L., and Beghein, C. (2019), Constraints on Seismic Anisotropy in the Mantle Transition Zone from Long-Period SS Precursors
C.B. attended the Seismological Society of America (SSA) Annual Meeting in Seattle, WA, and presented results about the blind tests performed for the InSight mission: Beghein, C., *Xu, H. et al. (2019), Constraining mars crust and mantle structure from waveform inversion of fundamental and higher mode surface waves, SSA Annual Meeting, Abstract
Haotian Xu’s paper on higher mode surface wave measurement is now in press and we have a DOI: Xu, H. and Beghein, C., Measuring Higher-Mode Surface Wave Dispersion Using a Transdismensional Bayesian Approach, Geophys. J. Int., doi:10.1093/gji/ggz133
C.B. attended the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference in the Woodlands, TX and presented a poster on the blind tests performed for the InSight mission.
Congratulations to Haotian Xu for getting his first first-authored paper accepted for publication at Geophysical Journal International! The paper is entitled “Measuring Higher-Mode Surface Wave Dispersion Using a Transdismensional Bayesian Approach”
