I model planetary interiors using seismic data and a method called seismic tomography, among other tools. We produce data-driven images of the internal structure of Earth and other planetary bodies to improve our understanding of the physical processes inside them.
My group works on a variety of subjects such as mapping Earth’s lithosphere-asthenosphere boundary (LAB) in oceanic and continental regions, modeling the thermal nature of the oceanic LAB, detecting seismic anisotropy near subduction zones, and in the deep upper mantle. We have also been working on modeling the interior of Mars.
