Resources

The GALE Lab is committed to sharing data, tools, and imagery that support research, teaching, and collaboration within the geoscience community. Our resources include high-resolution digital elevation models (DEMs) of Martian and terrestrial dune fields, virtual field trips for classroom and outreach use, and reference image libraries illustrating aeolian processes and stratigraphic architectures. These materials are designed to make our science accessible and reproducible, and to serve as a foundation for future work in sedimentology, geomorphology, and planetary surface processes.

Virtual Field Trips

Field trips can be experienced from the comfort of home with virtual headset technology. Click here to access UCLA’s library of virtual geology field stops.

Aeolian Reference

Geologic structures are easiest to learn with examples. Click here to access a library of reference images of structures and strata in aeolian sandstones.

Mars Digital Elevation Models

Three-dimensional landscape data enables a range of scientific measurements. Click here for more information on archived Mars DEMs from the GALE lab and collaborators.
