September 2019: Emilie Eshbaugh (UCLA) made the video above showing how the observed radius valley in the exoplanet size distribution can be  explained as a by product of planet formation with the core powered mass-loss mechanism (more details can be found in Ginzburg, Schlichting & Sari, 2018, Gupta & Schlichting 2019).

February 2021: The formation of the solar system's terrestrial planets concluded with a period of giant impacts.
