You can find out about\u00a0her\u00a0research interests\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/faculty.epss.ucla.edu\/~cbeghein\/research\/\">here<\/a>. She obtained her PhD in October 2003 from Utrecht University, in the Netherlands. She is\u00a0also the recipient of the\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"class2\" style=\"color: #ff2600;\" title=\"http:\/\/www.egu.eu\/awards-medals\/arne-richter\/2005\/caroline-beghein\/\" href=\"http:\/\/www.egu.eu\/awards-medals\/arne-richter\/2005\/caroline-beghein\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Arne Richter Award for Outstanding Young Scientists 2005<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">award, the 2009 UCLA Faculty Career Development Award, and she was selected to be one of the<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.iris.edu\/hq\/programs\/epo\/distinguished_lectureship\/year\/2016\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2016 IRIS\/SSA Distinguished Lecturers<\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">. Her <em>curriculum vitae<\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> can be found <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><a style=\"color: #ff00ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/faculty.epss.ucla.edu\/~cbeghein\/people\/cv\/\">here<\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Alonzo Olitt<\/strong>, PhD student, joined our group in Fall 2025. After being a postdoctoral researcher at UC Berkeley he decided to work in the private sector and is now employed by\u00a0Ernst &amp; Young.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Dr.<\/strong>\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/igor-stubailo-b615713b\/\"><strong>Igor Stubailo<\/strong><\/a>, 2015 PhD (co-advised with Paul Davis),\u00a0is now a <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.seismolab.caltech.edu\/stubailo_i.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Research Engineer<\/a>\u00a0at
